ABOUT/

Big-mountain is a creative data visualization and information design studio, working from A Lab; Amsterdam-Noord's hub for culture, technology, and social innovation. Rather than a fixed team, it runs as a loose network of designers, data scientists, illustrators, programmers, and researchers, able to take on smaller and larger data and design projects, with complexity and deliverables shaped around what each project actually needs.

The focus is on creativity, technology, and social entrepreneurship, working with any kind of data, but especially health and medical, environmental, sports, and social data. Big-mountain stays open to pro bono work for environmental and societal causes.

That range comes from a background spanning design, research, data analytics, and psychology, an interest in the psychology of visual information processing as much as the ability of great design to cut through barriers. It's also why collaboration matters: working closely with clients, not just for them, is where the strongest results come from.
